Australian Artist releases first Pop App

Apple has just released the first Pop Art application into their itunes store, showcasing the work of Australian artist, Johnny Romeo. Entitled iRomeo, the application was developed by Buratti Fine Art, and provides a flash gallery, automatic event updates, biographies and direct links to twitter and facebook fan pages for the artist. The app is free to download and there is a second version in development for the Android phone slated for release to coincide with the artist’s upcoming Perth exhibition entitled “Sin City”. This is possibly an Australian first for an industry which sees the digital arena starting to take over the reach of the traditional gallery system.
